Matthew Finlin

CEO

Matthew has an extensive 10 years of experience in business. Ranging from being a successful door-to-door sales trainer, having teams all over the planet and facilitating multi-million dollar mergers and acquisitions out of Hong Kong. His network is quality and if he doesn’t have the skill for something he knows someone who does, for ANYTHING in business.

Here at Human Potential Academy he oversees the day-to-day operations and is our CEO and visionary. In charge of leading the coaches through deeper understanding of the 5 Pillars Of Human Potential and the tenets in each program. He leads the Academy, facilitates at the HEKA events and oversees the Practitioner Division development.

Matthew's extensive experience in both business and personal development allows him to bring out the best in every individual, helping them achieve their full potential and make a difference in the world. He is dedicated to helping as many people as possible reach their fullest potential by empowering self-leadership.

Selena Shiu

COO & CFO

Often described as the wizard, Selena creates flow within HPA to operate with ease and efficiency. She manages the financial matters of the business and leads the Event Division from strategy to execution. Results and goals oriented she connects ideas, information, and resources into a network of systems, processes, and automation.

She builds structure for ideas to flourish and brings activity to scale. Teams are empowered with autonomy and focus, stress is removed with alignment and transparency, and communications are streamlined for better experiences. By applying agile methodology she leverages data to stay nimble in a fast growth environment with evolving scopes.

Selena is raising the bar with the Human Potential Academy globally, by providing better outcomes and experiences for each individual team member. Her blend of intuition and data creates synergies for optimal productivity.

Brian Carew

President, CHRO

One of his primary roles here is HR. He is an ideal person for people to “open up” to as he is always able to empathize and see both sides of a story. He is an excellent coordinator, both maintaining harmony within the team and interjecting a note of stability during stressful times.His reputation precedes him after a decade of impactful work globally and as a result is incredibly connected.

He spearheads our Partnerships and Community Development efforts and oversees collaborations with Facilitators for our events. Recognizing his talent for holding space and guiding clients through life changing experiences,  he has extended his gifts now as an educator in the arena. He sees the potential in every human and helps budding Facilitators and Coaches with basic business practices and also helps experts take their craft to the next level.

A true visionary, Brian is on a mission to connect influential change makers together to usher in a more connected, loving world centered around gratitude and service. A natural initiator he brings remarkable ideas to move the business forward and his ability to lead teams is evident.

 Brian meets Matthew and they recognize they have much to learn from each other.
August 13, 2022
1st HEKA Event hosted in Vancouver. The impactful event was hosted again in September and November. A different event format was hosted in Toronto in December.
January 2023
Rosanna and Alex joined the ARC solidifying Youth Academy Team - later renamed The Executive Edge program to appeal to Asian and North American markets. 
April 27, 2023
15 Courage students graduate from The Courage Program. 
June 15, 2023
Shareholder Agreements Signed by Matthew, Brian, and Selena … Or as they like to say… “we got married!” illustrating their commitment and love for making it work. 
October 2023
23 Courage students registered for personalized coaching with The Courage Program. Coaching containers are offered as 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 where clients can choose to work with dual coaches to expand their learning opportunity.

The Founders travel to Kelowna for potential client and partnership meetings. They turn the trip into their 2nd Founders Retreat. The first was in August 2022 at Matthew’s family home in Rossland.
Aug 7, 2023
HPA’s Executive Edge Program for teens is approved as a service provider for government grant funded social skills programs for autistic children. By October, 5 students formed the 1st cohort that will improve their executive function and emotional regulation skills that will carry them forward in adult life. 
March 1-9 2024
HPA is hosting their first international Retreat in the Sacred Valley of Peru for conscious leaders, creators, and entrepreneurs.
